DIRECTIONS TO THE OLD COLONY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

FROM BOSTON:

 

Follow Route 3 South to Route 128/I93 North, then take Route 24 South.  From Route 24, take exit #13 for Route 44 West.  Follow Route 44 West through Raynham into Taunton.

FROM

SPRINGFIELD/

WORCESTER:

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) headed East to Route 495 South, then to Route 24 South.  From Route 24, take exit #13 for Route 44 West.  Follow Route 44 West through Raynham into Taunton.

FROM CAPE COD:

 

Take Route 25 North which becomes Route 495 North.  Take exit #6 for Route 44 West.  Follow Route 44 West through Raynham into Taunton.

FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE:

After crossing into Taunton from Raynham, continue on Route 44 West for approximately 2 more miles.  Route 44 West turns into Dean Street.  After passing through the intersection with a light at the Hon. Gordon M. Owen Riverway, take the second available left onto Church Green, at the triangular common with the flagpole, fountain, and stone church.   The OCHS is 66 Church Green, halfway down the block on the left.  Parking is available in the lot in front of the building or on side streets.

 

ALTERNATE ROUTE FROM NORTH/WEST OF TAUNTON:

Take Route 495 South to Exit 8, Stoughton/Taunton.  Take a right off the exit to Route 138 South.  Follow Route 138 S. / Broadway into Taunton Green (a rotary).  Follow signs for Route 44 East down Main Street.  Just as the stores end, follow Route 140 South as it forks right at an intersection with the statue.  Turn left at the first light onto Church Green.  The Old Colony Historical Society is 66 Church Green, the third building on the right.  Parking is available in the lot in front of the building or on side streets.

 

 

FROM NORTON:

Follow Route 140 South into Taunton, following the signs for Route 140 around Taunton Green and onto Main Street.

FROM SOMERSET/

DIGHTON:

Follow Route 138 North into Taunton to Taunton Green.  At the Green, turn right onto Main Street.

FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE:

Follow Main Street.  Just as the stores end, follow Route 140 South as it forks right at an intersection with the statue.  Turn left at the first light onto Church Green.  The Old Colony Historical Society is 66 Church Green, the third building on the right.  Parking is available in the lot in front of the building or on side streets.

 

 

FROM NEW BEDFORD:

Follow Route 140 North into Taunton.  Near downtown, Route 140 North is called Summer Street. 

FROM PROVIDENCE:

Take 195 East into Massachusetts to Fall River. Take first exit off the Braga Bridge, Ext. 5, Rte. 79 North. Follow signs for Rte. 79 North to Taunton. Rte. 79 merges with Rte. 24 North. Follow Rte. 24 North to Exit 12, Rte. 140. Take Exit 12B, Rte. 140 North into Taunton.

FOR ALL THE ABOVE:

At the traffic light where Summer Street, Spring Street, and Church Green intersect, turn right onto Church Green.  The OCHS is 66 Church Green, the third building on the right.  Parking is available in the lot in front of the building or on side streets.

Follow Route 44 West into Taunton.  After crossing railroad tracks in Taunton, take second right at light onto High Street.  Follow High Street through next set of lights, then take left on Spring St.  Cross Summer St, where Spring St. turns into Church Green.  The Old Colony Historical Society is 66 Church Green, the third building on the right.  Parking is available in the lot in front of the building or on side streets.
